Brief Biography:

Fr. Antoninus Samy is an Assistant Professor of Economics who holds a doctorate in economic history from the University of Oxford. He has worked as a research economist for the Australian Bureau of Statistics, and as a postdoctoral research fellow at Oxford before joining the Order of Preachers in 2012. His research focuses on British financial history and housing markets, and the economic history of Catholic schools in the United States. His most recent book was published by Oxford University Press (2016), The Building Society Promise: Access, Risk and Efficiency, 1880-1939.
