Brief Biography:
I earned my undergraduate degree in Economics at the University of California, Berkeley. I later received my Ph.D. in Economics from Columbia University in the City of New York. During my doctoral program at Columbia I received a Rotary International scholarship which allowed me to spend a year as a special Ph.D. student at Tel Aviv University, Israel. My research fields include applied
econometrics, empirical political economy and sports economics. I am the founder of the Journal of Sports Economics of which I was the editor for from 1999 to 2015.
I am currently the Michael A. Ruane Distinguished Chair in Economics.
