Brief Biography:

Rev. William Marquis was born in New Hampshire (1954) entered the Dominican Order in 1977 where he earned a Masters in Divinity in 1982, was ordained to the priesthood in 1983, and earned a second masters degree in Sacred Scripture in 1984. After teaching Theology and Mathematics at Ohio Dominican University in Columbus, Ohio, he received a Ph.D. in Economics at the Ohio State University 1996 with fields in Labor Economics and Public Finance. He was assigned to Providence College as an Assistant Professor in 1996 in the economics department and served the College in a variety of roles until the present. He also served as a member of the Bishop’s Finance Committee and as Treasurer of the Dominican Province of St. Joseph.
